The Naked Dress Phenomena
Remember those days when you dressed solely with the intent to cover yourself? Perhaps not every inch, but the general consensus was Clothes = Cover up?
How boring were those!
In the fashion world and beyond, you could (and we do) argue these days are behind us. The phenomenon of the naked dress is upon us – and has been for quite some time.
The most important factor to remember however, the real under lying message isn’t the dress itself. It’s the significance of these women wearing the dress, and serving up absolute body REALNESS, these proud, bold, strong and bloody brilliant women.
Now of course, to take a look at a few of our faves.
The QUEEN of the Naked Dress, Ms Jennifer Lopez herself.
Not even to mention the infamous 2000 navel sporting green Versace dress (which, has since been accredited to the created of Google Images – fun fact), Jlo has been slaying the naked dress since day dot. The latter of which was at her 46th birthday… Seriously, can we talk about how insane that is?
Of course 90's Mossy rocked the naked dress, I am sure we could dig deeper into history to find the true origins of the Naked Dress. But honestly if it's good enough for Kate, it is good enough for us!
Never one to shy away from outrageous trends, here's bombshell Lady Gaga 'shopping in London' - naturally.
And the mother of all Naked Dresses, the dress that got the ball rolling back in 2014 at the CDFA Awards. That bod, that dress, THAT WOMAN. Isn't it wonderful!
The question is. Is the above enough to inspo to dare to bare yourself? Would you take it next level and kill it in a naked inspired dress?
